Republic of China is commonly known as Taiwan, it has a population of 23 million. Yet only 2.5% are evangelical Christians, half of them are regular church attendees.
Less than 1/200 Working Class Taiwanese are Christians. Working Class makes up two third of the population (15million).

Most Christians in Taiwan are middle or upper-middle class; this is because they are educated into speaking mandarin where as the working class are far less educated, very traditional and speak in Taiwanese. This causes barriers, as most missionaries speak mandarin rather than Taiwanese.
There has been a missionary decline in Taiwan over the past ten years caused by a number unknown factor, possibly due to people having the misconceptions that there is a strong church presence in Taiwan. Since it doesn’t have restrictions of religious freedom, it is not a hard country to spread the Gospel yet it is the hardest asian country to reach to.
Spiritual darkness is very apparent in the countryside. Taiwan has more temples than any other country in the world and is influence by superstition and idolatry.
With this in mind please continue to pray for Taiwan, that a spiritual revival will come upon the country and that Jesus will be proclaimed.
Praying for you guys!
ReplyDeleteHeavenly Father,
How great you are that you have gifted Taiwan with a team of people willing to encourage and build up your churches there. Father we pray that you will allow the team to serve humbly and graciously holding out your love displayed through your Son whom died and rose again.
Father please help them prepare for this task of serving overseas and continue to instruct and to build up those you are sending so that on their return they can do mission for their home church in the local community.
We entrust them into your hands father, knowing you are sovereign.
Amen
Praying for the team :)
ReplyDeleteFather God,
I thank You for moving my brothers and sisters to leave their comfort homes in Aus to serve in Taiwan. I pray for their planning as well as the actual mission that they will be able to bring glory to You Lord.
Lord God, I also pray for each team members' individual godliness as they prepare for the mission. I pray that Your Word will continue to transform their hearts, and equip them for their work in Taiwan.
Father, I also pray that You'll soften their hearts as they prepare themselves for the mission, I pray that they'll have hearts after Your own heart, so that they'll be able to love the people there. As well as love one another despite their different Church backgrounds, because we are One in You Lord.
Father, we trust that You're in control and that You're sovereign over the people in Taiwan.
In Jesus' name I pray.
Amen.
Thanks Bleighton and Nicole <3
